Little Red Lighthouse Watercolor
As soon as I saw the "Little Red Lighthouse" while on my younger son's school field trip last month, I knew I'd have to paint it at some point. So here's the finished product: 9" x 12", Arches hot-pressed paper. I usually use rougher, cold-pressed papers, but this time thought I'd experiment with the smooth stock. The results aren't bad, but I do prefer the rougher Fabriano papers.

Beautiful, Brian. What a fabulous shade of red.
Great job!
good for you for experimenting a little. Comfort zones are made to be broken.
Oh, my. How wonderful. I particularly like the sky. The smooth paper is absolutely right for this painting.
Very nice, Brian. I especially like the contour and shading on the lighthouse. And the top. And the bottom. And the middle...
