Weekend Photos

Just a few shots from the weekend. The first is from a building on 10th St. in the West Village. It appears to have been a warehouse at one time, but like so many other buildings in the neighborhood, has been converted into apartments. I liked this for the shading and texture of the bricks, as well as the interplay between the sunlight and the brickwork's geometry. The remaining three photos are from the Church of St. Anthony of Padua on Sullivan St. at Houston. Founded in 1866, it is staffed by Franciscans and is the oldest Catholic parish founded as a ministry to Italian immigrants in the U.S. It's been used in quite a few movies, including The Godfather II.

I am utterly in love with the texture of that first photo.

Oh--and have you seen this woman's cards? I think you'd like them: http://www.carascissoria.com/
