Having spent the last 11 years in Manhattan, the previous ten in beautiful but philistine East Tennessee and everything before that in Virginia, I've acquired a weird perspective that is at various times: extremely liberal, anti-southern, pro-southern, anti-suburbia, pro-NYC, anti-NYC, pro-socialist, Anglophilic, nostalgic, long-winded, anti-Republican, spiritual . . . and on occasion just ornery.

I love signs, too. There's something about them that show as much age as buildings. Especially those very old signs painted on the sides of buildings.
Neon is awesome and hard to photograph. Wonderful images!!
